Bio

Silva Dee has been playing the guitar since the tender age of eight. Having attained his musical inspiration from his father Eddie D’Silva – leader of a big band “Eddie and his Rhythm Stars”.

Silva Dee knew exactly what he wanted to do in his life. He has since been performing in many bands nationally and internationally to date – having formed the “Grasshoppers” in 2007 and experimented with various potential drummers, and with the inclusion of another gun guitar player – the band has finally accumulated the right line up to progress into the light they are looking for.

The band has been on ABC TV state line program in 2010 after the release of their first album – “I guess I’m lucky” and sold over a thousand copies in a very short period of time. The second album “Taking you home tonight” released in 2010 has had an enormous response and positive feedback and the last track on the album “Burning away” (a song related to global warming) is gaining attention in the USA.

The band has performed in WA locally and along the coast north and south including various mine sites and inland country towns and has always been reinvited to all of the venues, which gives the band an insight of its continuous top-level performance and keeps it grounded to continue at this level or higher.

Silva Dee is in studio mode at the moment with immense motivation to roll out his fourth album and is hoping to strut his new songs later this year hopefully at the Bridgetown Blues festival. In the meantime, the band is continuing to play live and keep the fire burning for themselves and their fans especially when the critics are always positive and encouraging.

Ned Smith is an upcoming magical gun guitar player. Now in his early twenties Ned is an inspiration to so many accomplished guitar players and to his colleagues. Ned has been playing with The SilvaDee band since 2017 and his humble approach with great humour hardly tells of the age difference. Hired to perform at the Settlers Tavern for one gig in 2017 with the SilvaDee band amazed the fellow musicians of the band of the level of quality and the sound that had a strong fill in with colour and texture and power. He has since been playing with the band and grows with confidence and technique all the time and is a pleasure to have him around. Click edit button to change this text.

Besides playing electric bass and upright bass, he also regularly performs on drums and has recently started performing as a solo singer/guitar player.Click edit button to change this text.
